Kevin Mixon joined the ORU Athletic department as Assistant Director of Sports Performance in August 2021. In his current role, Mixon works as the primary sports performance coach for the baseball, women’s soccer and women’s tennis programs while assisting with ORU’s various other athletic programs.
Mixon joined the Golden Eagles after serving six seasons as a Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Baltimore Orioles. During his time there, he started working at the Rookie level and worked as high as High-A. He also spent time working with the major league team during spring training.
Mixon also spent several years working in the private sector at The Alpha Project, a performance facility on the central coast of California. While at The Alpha Project he held several roles, starting as an intern, working up to Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, and eventually filling the role of Performance Director. Mixon worked with athletes of every age across a variety of sports, from youth levels up to Olympian.
Mixon was a Cum Laude graduate from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2014 where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from North Georgia. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, while also holding certifications in FMS, TPI OnBase U Pitching Level 1 and Hitting Level 1, RPR Level 1 and is Basic Life Support through American Heart Association, and SafeSport Trained.
