Tyler Beckman was promoted to the role of Director of Sports Performance for ORU Athletics in May 2021. He joined the Golden Eagles as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance at the start of the 2015-16 school year after eight months as a graduate assistant at North Dakota State.

While with the Bison, Beckman worked with the softball, men’s golf and middle-distance track athletes, while aiding workouts for other programs including men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer, baseball and wrestling. He provided nutrition information and created weekly menus for his athletes and also performed testing procedures to help gauge improvements.

Prior to his time as a GA, Beckman was an intern at both NDSU and University of North Dakota, and also served as an assistant coach for a summer strength, speed and agility camp in Carrington, North Dakota.

A 2013 cum laude graduate of UND, Beckman earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education, exercise science and wellness.  He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in leadership in physical education and sport.
