The Oral Roberts University volleyball team defeated Nicholls State 3-0 (32-30, 30-20, 30-26) before falling to San Diego State 3-1 (30-23, 26-30, 24-30, 19-30) Saturday during the Green Mill Restaurant Volleyball Classic at Wichita State University.

ORU displayed a balanced attack against Nicholls State. Freshman outside hitter Ori Zuzic led ORU with 12 kills, junior outside hitter Becky Brunelle had 11 kills, and freshman middle blocker Kim Snow contributed 11 kills along with 5 blocks. Brittany Arnold had 31 assists, and junior libero Becky Dreher defended ORU's side of the court with 18 digs.

Against San Diego State, Zuzic and Brunelle each had 16 kills, Arnold tossed up 36 assists, and Dreher had 16 digs.

ORU's record now stands at 4-7. Nicholls State fell to 2-6, while San Diego State improved to 7-3. ORU plays its first home match of the season against Oklahoma Tuesday at 7 p.m.
