TULSA --
The Oral Roberts University volleyball team lost to the
University of Oklahoma 3-1 (31-29, 22-30, 31-29, 30-18) Tuesday
evening on the campus of ORU. In an extremely competitive match,
the Golden Eagles and Sooners exchanged leads throughout the night
in front of a crowd of 1,079 at ORU's Aerobics Center.
Freshman outside hitter Ori Zuzic led ORU with 16 kills and five
service aces. Freshman middle blocker Kim Snow had five blocks to
go along with 13 kills. Freshman setter Brittany Arnold tossed up
37 assists. Junior libero extraordinaire Becky Dreher recorded her
first 30-dig performance on the year. Dreher ranked third in the
NCAA with 611 digs last season while recording two 30+ dig
performances.
With the loss, ORU's record falls to 4-8, while Oklahoma improves
to 8-4. The Oklahoma victory narrows the ORU series lead to 25-18.
OU's win marked the program's first over ORU since 1994. The Golden
Eagles next court action takes place Friday afternoon at 5:00
against Louisiana State University during the Mean Green Classic on
the campus of North Texas University.
