TULSA -- The Oral Roberts University volleyball
team saw its previously unblemished 51-0 all-time home court record
against current Mid-Continent Conference members tainted by
conference frontrunner Valparaiso University. The Crusaders of
Valparaiso defeated the Golden Eagles 3-0 (30-23, 30-27, 30-27)
Saturday evening at ORU's Cooper Aerobics Center. ORU had been 46-0
at home against Mid-Con opposition since joining the league in
1997.
Freshman middle blocker Kim Snow shined for ORU with 17 kills and a
hitting percentage of .429. Freshman outside hitter Ori Zuzic
contributed 15 kills. Junior libero Becky Dreher had 17 digs.
Freshman setter Brittany Arnold tossed up 36 assists.
ORU's record now stands at 8-10 (1-1 Mid-Con), while Valparaiso
climbed to 14-4 (2-0 Mid-Con). ORU's next court action takes place
at 5:00 Monday afternoon when the Golden Eagles square off against
Sun Belt Conference member Arkansas State.
