The Oral Roberts University volleyball team rebounded from its
first ever Mid-Continent Conference home loss with a 3-1 victory
over Sun Belt Conference frontrunner Arkansas State University. The
game scores were 30-23, 30-17, 25-30, 30-28.
Freshman middle blocker Kim Snow had 17 kills in 37 attempts for a
hitting percentage of .351. Snow also had five blocks. Maja Devic
led ORU with eight blocks. Junior outside hitter Becky Brunelle
recorded a triple-double of sorts with 16 kills, 15 digs, and 10
attack errors. Freshman setter Maura Cicala tossed up 56 assists.
Junior libero Becky Dreher totaled 25 digs.
Giedre Tarnauska led Arkansas State with 21 kills in 47 attempts
for .298 hitting percentage. Tessa Millikan had 13 digs. Kelly
Linder had 25 assists.
ORU's record climbed to 9-10, while Arkansas State dropped to 13-4.
The next ORU volleyball match takes place at 7:00 Saturday evening
when the Golden Eagles take on Centenary, the newest addition to
the Mid-Continent Conference.
