Fresno, Calif. �€" Ori Zuzic had 18 kills and Becky
Brunelle added 10 to lead ORU to a 3
-0 victory over San Francisco and help the Golden Eagles split a
pair of matches on the
first day of the Fresno State Tournament Friday.
ORU (3-7) hit .262 as a team, while USF (4-8) hit just .145.
Brunelle posted a .364
attack percentage to lead the Golden Eagles, which also received
31 assists and 11 digs
from Brittany Arnold and 31 digs from Becky Dreher.
Zuzic also led ORU with 21 kills and added 11 digs in the first
match of the day, a 3-2
(29-31, 30-26, 30-27, 24-30, 15-6) loss to UNLV Friday
morning.
After ORU captured the first game, UNLV (4-3) won the next two
before the Golden
Eagles forced a fifth and deciding game with a 30-24 win in game
four.
Becky Brunelle (11 kills, 14 digs) and Brittany Arnold (31 assists,
12 digs) also had
double-doubles for the Golden Eagles, while Kim Snow contributed
10 kills and a team-
leading .318 attack percentage. Becky Dreher recorded a team-high
30 digs.
ORU takes on San Diego State (2:30 central) and host Fresno State
(7:30 central) on
Saturday, the final day of the tournament.
