TULSA, Okla. �€" The Oral Roberts University volleyball
team picked up its fifth straight Mid-Continent Conference win with
a 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-16) victory over Oakland Saturday night at
the Cooper Aerobics Center. The win keeps the Golden Eagles (13-8,
6-1) in a tie atop the league standings.
Outside hitter Ori Zuzic (Porec, Croatia)
registered a match-high 19 kills while hitting a season-high .457.
Zuzic, the reigning conference player of the week, also finished
the night with six digs and three service aces.
ORU hit .396 as a team for the match, while holding Oakland (4-19,
3-4) to a .274 attack percentage. The home squad also out-dug their
opponents 48-28 and totaled 10 aces to the Golden Grizzlies'
one.
Rightside hitter Jackie Oliveira (Minas Gerais,
Brazil) chipped in with her eight double-double, connecting on 10
markers to go along with 13 digs. Middle blocker Maja
Devic (Split, Croatia) added eight kills and hit a
match-high .727 for ORU.
The Golden Eagles will return to action on Thursday, October 20th,
when they step out of conference action and visit North Texas at
7:00 p.m.
