TULSA, Okla. Oral Roberts
University men's soccer team tied Bradley, 0-0, in non-conference
action on Saturday night at Shea Stadium in Peoria, Ill.
Carlos Veron (Asuncion, Paraguay)
kept the Golden Eagles in the match and helped ORU (4-6-3) run
their unbeaten streak to two games. Veron faced 27 shots but only
five of them were on goal. It was his fourth shut out of the
year.
Bradley controlled play in the
first half, out shooting the Golden Eagles 11-3 and having a 3-1
advantage in corner kicks.
ORU fought back in the second half
but could not find the back of the net. BU's keeper Mike Haynes had
two saves in the period to keep the match scoreless.
The Golden Eagles had the only
registered shot-on-goal in the second overtime.
ORU's Gary Duran (Santa Cruz,
Bolivia) led both teams with six shots while one was on goal.
Bradley, a member of the Missouri
Valley Conference, moved to 6-6-3.
ORU returns to action this Tuesday,
hosting cross-town rival Tulsa University. The match is slated to
start at 7 p.m. Admission to the game is free.
