TULSA�€"Caleb Green (Tulsa, Okla.)
scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Oral Roberts
University to an 89-69 exhibition victory over Central Oklahoma,
Saturday at Mabee Center. With the win, ORU completes its two-game
exhibition season undefeated.
Green
was one of four Golden Eagles to reach double figures. The senior
forward was 5-of-7 from the field and 13-of-18 from the free throw
line. He also had two assists and a block in 31 minutes.
Joining
Green in double digits was Kelvin Sango (Tulsa,
Okla.) with 20 points off the bench; Ken Tutt
(Garland, Texas) scored 12 points, and Shawn King
(Bequia, St. Vincent) chipped in with 11.
Not
reaching double figures but enjoying solid games was
Marchello Vealy (Oklahoma City, Okla.) with eight
points and eight rebounds, and Adam Liberty
(Oklahoma City, Okla.) with seven points, eight rebounds and eight
assists.
The
Golden Eagles won despite getting out-rebounded 40-38, and
committing 25 turnovers.
ORU led
49-36 at halftime after shooting 58.6 percent (17-29) from the
field. The Golden Eagles shot 54.5 percent (30-55) for the game,
including 50 percent (5-10) from 3-point range.
The
Golden Eagles�€™ defense limited the Bronchos to
35.7 percent (25-70) shooting for the game, including a 1-for-18
effort from 3-point range.
Anthony
Brown led all scorers with 24 points, making 10-of-19 shots from
the field.
With
the exhibition season complete, the Golden Eagles open the 2006-07
regular season, 9:35 p.m., Friday at Loyola Marymount.
