Stillwater, Okla. - Oral Roberts University's
Faithy Kamangila continued her dominance with a first place finish
at the 70th annual Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater on
Saturday morning.
Kamangila finished first out 101 university runners with a time
of 17:14 on the 5k course, edging out the second place finisher
from Texas Christian by 14 seconds. This was the third time in as
many meets that Kamangila has captured a first place finish. Not
far behind was teammate Diana Chelimo, who finished fifth with a
time of 17:59. The duo has led ORU in all of their meets this
season.
Overall, the women's team finished 8th, with Oklahoma State
grabbing first.
On the men's side, James Wanjiku led the Golden Eagles on the
day, finishing 43rd with a time of 26:28 on the 8k course. The men
finished 14th out of 21 on the day.
The Golden Eagles run again when they host the ORU Subway
Classic on Saturday, October 7.
