Seniors Lift ORU to 4-0 Victory Over IPFW

TULSA – Three seniors accounted for all four goals as the Oral Roberts University women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 4-0 victory over IPFW on Sunday. The Golden Eagles improved to 6-10-1 overall and 3-5 in Summit League play with the win.

"We're really proud of our seniors and everything they've given to the program," said ORU women's soccer head coach Ryan Bush. "I'm glad that three of them were able to score goals in their final game."

Correne Walker (Greater Portmore, Jamaica) led off the scoring in the 11th minute, tapping the ball past an outstretched keeper for her fourth goal of the season. Fellow senior Natalya Manyan (St. Andrew, Jamaica) assisted the score.

Just three minutes later, Manyan dribbled through the defense and fired a shot off the keeper and into the net to give ORU a 2-0 lead. The goal was Manyan's ninth of the season.

Lorena Soto (Asuncion, Paraguay) scored her fourth goal of the season at the 23:49 mark when she followed off a deflection from Kaycie Porter's (Kingwood, Texas) free kick.

ORU held its 3-0 advantage until the 62nd minute, when Manyan and Walker struck again to round out the scoring. Walker scored her second goal of the game and fifth of the season from the left wing off an assist from Manyan, who tallied four points in Sunday's contest.

Sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Wheeler (Mission Viejo, Calif.) posted four saves en route to her sixth win and third shutout of the season. Wheeler posted 91 saves this season, which ties for fifth all-time at ORU.

The Golden Eagles outshot IPFW by a 25-8 margin. Senior Kylela Brownhill (Kingston, Jamaica) led the squad with seven shots.
