Eagles Drop Regular Season Finale, 68-55

FARGO, N.D.—Three players scored in double figures as North Dakota State handed Oral Roberts University a 68-55 Summit League setback, Saturday at the Bison Sports Arena.

ORU concludes the regular season at 21-8 overall and 16-2 in Summit League play. The Golden Eagles are the No. 1 seed for next weekend's Summit League Tournament, where they will be looking for their third straight title. North Dakota State, ineligible for the tournament, ends its season at 16-13 and 10-8.

Ben Woodside led all scorers with 19 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the field. He also added six assists and four rebounds. Brett Winkleman scored 18 points and Mike Nelson chipped in 14 points.

Adam Liberty (Oklahoma City, Okla.) led ORU with 12 points, but was just 4-of-12 from the field. He was the only Golden Eagle to score in double figures.

North Dakota State limited ORU to 32.1 percent shooting in the first half when the Bison raced to a 29-19 halftime lead. The Golden Eagles got within eight points twice, the last coming on a Yemi Ogunoye (Cedar Hill, Texas) three-pointer to make it 32-24 with 19:03 left.

NDSU's lead grew to as many as 20 points when a three-pointer by Woodside made it 61-41 with 1:57 to play.

The Golden Eagles shot 37.7 percent for the game, compared to 45.1 percent for NDSU. The Bison owned a slight edge in rebounding, 36-35.

ORU opens Summit League Tournament action when they face No. 8 seed Centenary, 6 p.m., Saturday at the UMAC at John Q. Hammons Arena.
