INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.
Dominique Morrison (Kansas City, Mo.) and
Kyron Stokes (Masnsfield, Texas) combined to
score 14 of the final 22 points including eight of the last
10 -- to lead Oral Roberts University to a 67-58 comeback Summit
League win over IUPUI, Thursday at IUPUI Gymnasium.
Freshmen Morrison and Stokes helped ORU rally for its fourth
straight win after the Golden Eagles (7-11, 5-1 Summit) squandered
a 37-25 halftime lead. The Jaguars (9-8, 2-4) opened the final 20
minutes by scoring the first 14 points and led 50-44 with 9:32 to
play.
Stokes started the comeback with a pair of free throws, putting ORU
within 50-46 with 9:03 left. A layup by Andre
Hardy (San Diego, Calif.) made it 50-48 with 8:21
remaining.
Scoreless over the first 34 minutes of the game, Morrison hit
back-to-back baskets to put ORU ahead 52-50 with 5:55 left. A pair
of free throws by IUPUI's Robert Glenn tied the game at 52, and
Billy Pettiford layup gave the Jaguars a 54-52 lead with 4:51 to
go.

Robert Jarvis (Humble, Texas) 3-pointer and a Kevin
Ford (Portland, Ore.) layup gave the Golden Eagles a 57-54 lead
with 3:27 to play.
Two IUPUI baskets sandwiched around a driving layup by Morrison
made it 59-58 with 2:01 left. Stokes drained a three-pointer with
1:26 left for a 62-58 lead and Jarvis, Morrison and Stokes went
5-for-6 from the line in the final 34 seconds to seal the win.
Jarvis led ORU with 22 points, going 7-of-13 from the field and
6-for-6 from the free throw line. Marcus
Lewis (Long beach, Calif.) scored 11 points with 12 rebounds,
his fifth double-double in the last seven games. Stokes chipped in
with 10 points.
Glenn led all scorers with 24 points for IUPUI. Leroy Nobles scored
all 15 of his points in the second half.
The Golden Eagles continued their recent rebound dominance,
out-rebounding the Jags, 36-26. ORU shot 51.1 percent from the
field, while limiting IUPUI to 40.7 percent. ORU was 15-of-17 from
the free throw line, compared to 7-of-11 for the Jags.
ORU returns to action when they visit Summit League foe Western
Illinois, 7 p.m., Saturday.
