ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oral Roberts University volleyball team
suffered a 3-2 loss (28-26, 21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-10) at Oakland
on Friday night. The Golden Eagles fell to 9-10 overall and 5-5 in
Summit League play, while the Golden Grizzlies improved to 15-5 on
the season and 8-4 in conference action.
Joana
Gruber (Santa Rosa, Brazil) tallied a career-high 18 kills in
the loss, while Tatum
Fredeen (Bentonville, Ark.) and
Serena Cate (Yorba Linda,
Calif.) added 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
Senior
Juliane Vieira (Ribeirao
Preto, Brazil) posted a double-double against the Golden Grizzlies
with 36 assists and 10 digs.
Cassidy Holmes (Tulsa,
Okla.) paced ORU with 20 digs in the contest while also recording
three service aces to lead the Golden Eagles.
ORU returns to action at 6 p.m. on Saturday at IPFW.
