TULSA - Six
different players posted career-high performances as the Oral
Roberts University volleyball team recorded a 3-1 victory (25-23,
33-35, 25-19, 25-18) over IPFW on Friday night at the Aerobics
Center. The Golden Eagles evened their record to 6-6 overall and
2-2 in Summit League play.
Serena
Cate (Yorba Linda, Calif.) turned in a double-double
performance with 14 kills and a career-best 23 digs.
Juliane
Vieira also posted a double-double on Friday, recording a
season-high 60 assists for an average of 15 per set, while tying a
career-high with 17 digs.
Freshmen Joana
Gruber (Santa Rosa, Brazil) and Elizabeth
McVicker (Owasso, Okla.) each tallied a career-best 16 kills
for a team-best .438 hitting percentage. Fellow newcomer Olivia Ophus (Tulsa,
Okla.) chipped in a career-high 11 kills.
Cassidy
Holmes (Tulsa, Okla.) shattered her previous best of 18 digs
with a team-leading 29 in the victory.
Fellow
junior Brittney
Rush (Riverside, Calif.) also turned in an impressive
performance with a career-high nine kills against only one error.
Rush led the Golden Eagles with three total blocks.
The Golden
Eagles return to action against Oakland at 7 p.m. on Saturday at
the Aerobics Center.
