DETROIT, Mich.-
Juan Chang scored the
game-winning goal in the 106th minute to lead Oral Roberts to a 2-1
win over Detroit on Sunday.
After nearly 52 minutes of scoreless soccer, Chang broke the tie
when his shot found the back of the net at 105:02 off an assist by
Aaron
Douthit.
Detroit (1-6-1) started the scoring in the first half when Sam
Seppo headed the ball past ORU keeper
Andrew Techanchuk in the
31st minute.
ORU tied the game early in the second half when
Gary Arauz found the
back of the net off an assist from Douthit in the 54th minute.
The game remained tied for almost an hour of playing time before
Chang won it for ORU.
The teams combined for 35 shots, with Detroit out-shooting ORU,
21-14. Techanchuk made four saves in goal for ORU, while Detroit's
Brandon Waterstradt had five saves.
Up next the Golden Eagles host Summit League foe IPFW, 8 p.m.,
Friday at ORU Soccer Complex.
