NASHVILLE, Tenn.-
Jarrett Hamilton and
Sterling Copeland each scored
goals to lead Oral Roberts University to a 2-1 win over Belmont,
Monday at Whitten Soccer Complex.
The match, part of the Belmont Classic, was rescheduled to Monday
after Sunday's game was postponed due to weather.
The Golden Eagles (1-1-0) got on the board first when Hamilton took
a cross from
Vince Tizzone and put the ball past Belmont keeper Ron
Gravely for a 1-0 lead at 30:27.
Copeland made it a 2-0 game at 57:48 when he bounced a deflected
shot in the back of the net.
ORU maintained its two-goal lead until Belmont got on the board in
the 86th minute.The Bruins Brandon Tarr put in a header to get
Belmont on the board.
Andrew Techanchuk made three saves in goal for ORU, while Gravely
stopped three shots for Belmont.
ORU hosts UNLV, 7 p.m., Friday at ORU Soccer Complex.
