The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles open up Summit League play against the Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in Macomb, IL.
The last time they took the court, Kevi Luper unleashed for 29 points, five boards and seven steals, as ORU broke back into the win column in impressive fashion with a 75-66 victory over the Missouri State Bears Tuesday afternoon at JQH Arena.
Jordan Pyle added a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while tying a career-high with five steals in the victory.
Savanna Buck chipped in nine points for ORU, shot a solid 7-8 from the free throw line and snatched a pair of steals.

Scouting Western Illinois
The Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks enter Thursday's game with an overall tally of 0-5 and are dropping each contest by an average of 20 points per outing. Picked to finish seventh (tied with Southern Utah) in the Summit preseason standings, Western Illinois returns three starters and six lettermen from a 2009-10 squad that went 11-20 in the regular season, before making a run to the semi-finals in the conference tourney. The Fighting Leathernecks are paced by sophomore guard Michelle Salvatori, who has led the team in scoring over the past two games and currently averages 9.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Ann Borgertpoepping is the team's rebounding leader with a 5.0 rpg average. Borgertpoepping has also posted 97 steals while at WIU and is only 40 away from ninth place in the Fighting Leathernecks career record books. Western Illinois is currently scoring 49 points per game and is shooting 32% from the floor over five games.

Series History
Thursday's meeting will mark the 31st time the Golden Eagles have faced Western Illinois. The Fighting Leathernecks hold a slight 16-14 advantage over ORU, although the Golden Eagles have won the past two games by scores of 82-52 (2/15/10) and 82-57 (1/16/10).

Following the Western Illinois contest, ORU will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana to square off against IUPUI (1-5) on December 4.
