TULSA - Freshman Laura
Taylor recorded a triple-double and three other Golden Eagles
scored in double-figures as Oral Roberts dropped South Dakota State
by a score of 3-1 (27-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-22) on Sunday at the
Aerobics Center. The Golden Eagles improved to 4-2 in Summit League
play.
The ORU offense came out firing on Sunday, posting a season-high 78
kills for a .364 hitting percentage and a season-best 70
assists.
Taylor, a Broken Arrow, Okla., native, put together her first-ever
triple-double with career highs of 12 kills and 50 assists, while
also pitching in 10 digs. Taylor committed only two errors for a
team-high .526 hitting percentage.
Tatum
Fredeen (Bentonville, Ark.) had another huge match, smashing a
season-high 18 kills against only three errors for a .469 hitting
percentage.
Junior Serena
Cate (Yorba Linda, Calif.) posted her third double-double of
the year with a season-high 17 kills and 10 digs. Cate also handed
out a career-best seven assists.
Sophomore Olivia
Ophus (Tulsa, Okla.) tied a career high with 12 kills and
tallied nine digs, while also handing out a career-best five
assists.
Freshman Jessica
Pancratz (Tulsa, Okla.) earned her first start of the season
and posted nine kills, while Elizabeth
McVicker (Owasso, Okla.) also chipped in nine kills.
Cassidy
Holmes (Tulsa, Okla.) and Bruna
Silva (Niteroi, Brazil) also recorded double-digit digs in
Sunday's victory with 13 and 12, respectively.
As a team, the Golden Eagles hit .364, while South Dakota State
(6-7, 2-3) hit .321 with 51 kills and only nine errors.
Kelli Fiegen and Ellyce Youngren both led the Jacks with 13 kills
apiece.
The Golden Eagles resume Summit League play at Centenary next
Saturday.
