MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Oral Roberts volleyball team fell in three
sets (11-25, 20-25, 19-25) to Georgia Tech on Friday morning in the
opening game of the Varney's Kansas State Invitational in
Manhattan, Kan. The Golden Eagles continue play against Kansas
State on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Elizabeth
McVicker (Owasso, Okla.) led the Golden Eagles (2-3) with eight
kills against only two errors, while Luara
Rosa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) added four kills.
Freshman Anna
Rossi (Sao Paulo, Brazil) paced ORU in assists with 11, while
also recording seven digs.
Bruna
Silva (Niteroi, Brazil) led the defensive effort with 12 digs,
while Jocelyn
Swier (Ripon, Calif.) posted a game-high five blocks.
Monique Mead tallied a game-high 18 kills for the Yellow Jackets,
while Mary Ashley Tippins handed out 31 assists and Jordan
McCullers recorded 16 digs.
Georgia Tech (3-1) hit .241 with 44 kills and held the Golden
Eagles to just a .057 percentage with 21 kills.
