MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Oral Roberts volleyball team dropped a 3-0
match (20-25, 20-25, 14-25) to Kansas State in Friday's second
contest at the Varney's Kansas State Invitational in Manhattan,
Kan.
Joana
Gruber (Santa Rosa, Brazil) led the Golden Eagles with seven
kills and also posted nine digs, while fellow sophomore Elizabeth
McVicker (Owasso, Okla.) added six kills.
Freshman Laura
Taylor (Broken Arrow, Okla.) tallied 23 of the team's 25
assists for a season-total of 125.
Newcomer Bruna
Silva (Niteroi, Brazil) paced ORU in digs for the second
consecutive day with 12.
JuliAnne Chisolm led the Wildcats with a game-high 17 kills, while
Alex Muff added eight kills and a game-high six blocks.
Kansas State (3-3) outhit the Golden Eagles (2-4) by a 46-27 margin
and held ORU to just a .091 hitting percentage. The Wildcats posted
eight blocks to the Golden Eagles' four.
ORU wraps up tournament play against Loyola Marymount at 11:00 a.m.
on Saturday.
