Tulsa-The Oral Roberts women's basketball team extended their win
streak to six-straight, outlasting a feisty UMKC Kangaroo squad
90-79 Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Center.

Jones fell just three points shy of her career high, leading
ORU with 20 points on 7-11 shooting, while dishing out four assists
and grabbing three steals in the win.
The Golden Eagles survived a hotly contested first half which
featured the guest 'Roos draining a three in response to every run
ORU could muster. By the time the buzzer sounded on the opening 20
minutes, UMKC had connected on a blistering 6-9 clip from beyond
the arc and entered the locker room only trailing by five
(40-45).
Coming out of the break, ORU finally managed to get things going,
pulling ahead by double-digits (56-45) on a Savanna
Buck fast break layup and foul.
Over the course of the next ten minutes, the host Golden Eagles
out-dueled UMKC 26-11 and eventually built a 26 point cushion with
five minutes to go.
The 'Roos had one last scoring spree left in them, putting
together a 14-0 run with time winding down, but it was too little,
too late as ORU held on for the 11 point win.
Five Golden Eagles finished with double-digit scoring in the win,
as Kevi
Luper added 17, points, Jordan
Pyle tacked on 13, Jaci
Bigham chipped in 12 and Christian
Key rounded out the group with 10.
Buck added a game-best eight rebounds for ORU.
ORU earned the victory despite coming up on the wrong end of a
39-33 rebounding disparity and committing 27 turnovers on the
afternoon.
As a team, the Golden Eagles fired a 52 percent clip from the
field and snagged 16 steals.
With the win, ORU moves to 11-7 overall and a team-record 7-0 in
Summit Play. UMKC falls to 6-11 on the year and 1-5 in
conference.
The Golden Eagles hit the floor once again as they host Southern
Utah Monday evening. Tip-off is slated for 7:05 p.m.
