Oral Roberts Stampedes Past Bison, 92-66

Box Score

TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts University dominated from the opening tip on Monday night, breezing to a 92-66 victory over North Dakota State University at the Mabee Center. The Golden Eagles are now 10-6 on the year, with a 4-1 mark in Summit League play.

Junior Kevi Luper was the star on Monday night, going 9-for-18 from the floor and scoring 25 points. Jordan Pyle added 13 points, while Georgia Jones scored nine in addition to nine assists.

Eleven different players scored for Jerry Finkbeiner's team, including Amber Carver, who notched nine points. Savanna Buck and Bernadett Balla added eight each.

Janae Burich led NDSU (6-12, 3-3 Summit League) with 11 points and eight rebounds. The Bison were hampered greatly by 29 turnovers.

ORU came out with guns blazing, and it didn't take long to put some distance between them and their conference rivals. After a jumper from Jones at the 11:26 mark, the Eagles were doubling NDSU up, 22-11.

It was Jones who scored another pivotal basket later in the half. The senior hit a runner with 3:54 left in the half to give ORU their first 20-point lead, at 40-20.

The Golden Eagles maintained that margin heading into the halftime locker room. A basket by Carver put the home side up, 50-30, at the break.

Even after some minor runs, NDSU found it difficult to chisel into ORU's lead. A stock-back by Buck pushed the Eagle lead to 66-43 at the 12:57 mark.

A beautiful pick-and-roll led sent ORU over the 30-point plateau. The basket by Dominique Allen, off a Jaci Bigham feed, made the score 75-45 with 10:32 remaining in the game.

Several freshmen made key contributions as ORU salted the victory away. Chief among them were Ieva Eida, who drained a three-pointer, and Elisabeth Daniels, who scored two points and pulled down a late rebound.

ORU is now 6-4 all-time against North Dakota State and has won four straight.

The Golden Eagles head back on the road this Saturday, when they take on IUPUI. Tip-off in Indianapolis is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
