TULSA, Okla.-Having played seven of the last eight games on the
road, the Oral Roberts men's basketball team will return home for a
pair of contests this weekend, beginning with North Dakota State on
Thursday night. The game between the Bison (10-3, 4-1) and Golden
Eagles (12-4, 4-0) will tip off from the Mabee Center at 7:05
p.m.
Thursday's game will be broadcast live in the Tulsa area on
KYAL-FM 97.1. Free audio and video through the ELIve subscription
service will be made available through www.ORUGoldenEagles.com. The
game will also be televised on KGEB 53 (Cox 23) and Fox College
Sports.
A relatively new rivalry, ORU and North Dakota State have played
12 times, with 10 of those coming since 2007. ORU holds a 7-5
advantage all-time with the two teams facing off three times last
year. NDSU held serve at home but ORU won inside the Mabee Center
and again in the Summit League Tournament, giving the Golden Eagles
two-straight victories going into Thursday's game.
North Dakota State enters Thursday's game with a 3-1 record in
the Summit League, winning by an average margin of 16 points. The
lone loss in league play came in the conference opener at Western
Illinoi (55-51). They have four sophomores and a freshman in the
starting line up, with all five having started all 13 games this
season. Led by Taylor Braun's 14.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per
game, the Bison have four players averaging in double figures in
scoring. They average 75.8 points per game and are giving up just
62.8 points per contest. The Bison posted a 7-2 nonconference
record, with their only losses coming to Arizona State and
Minnesota.
