The Golden Eagles took the three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-21.

Sheera Sirola's club is over .500 for the first time since September 4, when a loss to Tulsa dropped them to 4-4.

Jessica Pancratz had six blocks (one solo) to spearhead the defensive charge, while Bruna Silva and Luara Rosa notched eight digs apiece.

Sierra Whitaker had 11 kills to lead Lamar (10-20, 2-14 SLC). The Cardinals hit an even .100 in the loss.

ORU surged ahead early in the first set with a 5-0 run, helped along by two Gruber kills, to take a 7-3 lead. A Fernandes ace stretched the advantage to 11-6, and ORU never looked back. The Golden Eagles took the set by a 25-16 count.

Lamar led for much of the second set before a Pancratz kill set ORU on a 4-0 run that gave the visitors a 15-13 lead. When the home team tried to rally late, Sirola's club responded, scoring the final four points of the set. Taylor had back-to-back kills to give ORU a series of set points, and Schaffner ended it on the first try with an ace to give the Golden Eagles a 25-19 win.

A kill by Taylor midway through the third set gave ORU an 8-7 lead and started an important 4-0 run. After Lamar cut the gap to 18-16, Gruber came up with a crucial kill, winning momentum back for the Golden Eagles, who went on to win by a 25-21 count.

The victory, coupled with a Stephen F. Austin loss earlier in the day, vaults ORU into 5th place in the Southland Conference standings.

The Golden Eagles return home on Thursday, November 8 to face Stephen F. Austin. First serve at the Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center is scheduled for 7 pm CT.
