CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois scored with
only 48 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to defeat
Oral Roberts University 2-1 on Sunday in Charleston, Ill.
The Golden Eagles dropped their first conference match of the
season as and fell to 2-1 in the Summit League and 4-6-2 overall.
The Panthers earned their first win of the season as they moved to
1-9-2 overall and 1-2-1 in league play.

White struck first for the Golden Eagles in the 30th
minute scoring from the right side of the box to break a scoreless

Adams joined White with a shot on goal each in the match.
In the second stanza, the Panthers tied the game in the
65th minute as Jake Billhart slipped the ball into the
net on a pass from the right side by Will Butler.
After a defensive battle in the first overtime, both teams had
opportunities in the second extra period as the Golden Eagles were
able to get four shots off and the Panthers had three. However,
after a foul just outside the box with time running out, Garet
Christianson put in a free kick to close the match at 2-1.

Sandoval (1-1-1) took the loss for ORU as he recorded four
saves, while Ben Feltes picked up a pair of saves for the
victory.
The Golden Eagles are set for their final non-conference home
match on Tuesday night as they host Incarnate Word at 7 p.m. at the
Case Soccer Complex.
