LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Cold
shooting and turnovers were too much for the Oral Roberts
University women's basketball team to overcome Wednesday night
falling 54-43 to UALR in non-conference action.
UALR entered with an 11-game home winning streak and
finished the night unblemished and off to the best start in program
history at 4-0.
Both teams struggled to find offense in the first half as
ORU fell behind in the first five minutes 9-2. UALR was able to
pull ahead and hold the lead taking a 22-17 lead at
halftime.
The Golden Eagles got 12 points from Dorottya
Balla who hit a three-pointer with 8 minutes left in the game
to pull ORU within a point; however UALR answered with a 15-3 run
while the Golden Eagles turned the ball over 24 times in the
loss.
The Turning Point
UALR held the Golden Eagles scoreless
for two separate stretches in the second half totaling almost eight
minutes. The second was a 15-3 run that took 5:03 off the clock and
built a nine point lead after ORU had cut the deficit to one
point.
The Golden Eagles never led in the second half as UALR
finished the night with a 54-43 win.

Balla led ORU with 12 points while Vicky
McIntyre was held to just six points and eight rebounds.
UALR: Shanity James
scored the first nine points for UALR and finished with 14 points
to lead all players.
Inside the Box
Score
- ORU was outrebounded for the second
consecutive game as UALR pulled in 40 rebounds to 34 for the Golden
Eagles.
- UALR had 14 turnovers which was the most by an ORU opponent this
season, however the Golden Eagles finished with 24 turnovers.
- ORU has not led in steals any game this season and was edged
14-6 Wednesday night.
