Oral Roberts University rallied from a 2-0 deficit but could not
overcome crosstown rival Tulsa in a 3-1 loss on Friday night. The
setback, which came in the opening match of the Golden Hurricane
Classic, is ORU's fourth straight.

TURNING POINT
ORU fought off two match points in the 4th set but could not stave
off a third, as Tulsa's Erica Bohannon ended the match with two
straight kills.

Milos paced ORU with 15 kills while Maggie
DiPronio set a career high with 22 digs
Tulsa: Bohannon led all players with 18 kills and
Valerie El Houssine notched a double-double, collecting 17 kills
and 111 digs
1ST SET - TULSA, 25-15
Tulsa scored five of the first six points and cruised through the
opening period. The Golden Hurricane clinched a 10-point win on an
ORU service error.
2ND SET - TULSA, 25-19
The home team led for good after a Bohannon kill split a 10-all
tie. Paige Panfil came up with a kill on Tulsa's second set
point.
3RD SET - ORU, 25-23
ORU hit .382 in their best set of the night. Sara
Pope and Sadie
Schaffner each tallied five kills in the set, and Milos
extended the match with a kill on the second set point.
4TH SET - TULSA, 26-24
Tulsa took their final lead of the match after an ORU service error
broke a 17-all tie. The set remained close, although Bohannon came
up clutch with the final two kills of the night
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Pope finished with 13 kills, while Schaffner had seven after
entering the match in the 2nd set
- Tulsa hit .248 on the night and held ORU to a .200 clip

Arnould each saw their first significant action of the season
on Friday. Redden set a career high with four digs, and Arnould
added two blocks

- Brooke Berryhill led Tulsa with 24 digs

NEWS AND NOTES
- ORU has not won since their victory over Arkansas on September
9
- The four-match losing streak is ORU's first since dropping seven
straight matches to begin September of 2012.
- The Golden Eagles are now 59-19 all-time against Tulsa, although
the Golden Hurricane have now won seven straight meetings
UP NEXT
ORU is back at the Reynolds Center on Saturday morning for an 11 am
match against McNeese State. The Golden Eagles are 4-0 all-time
against the Cowgirls, with all four wins coming since 2011.
