Hot Shooting Bison Hold off Golden Eagles

FARGO, N.D. - The Oral Roberts University women's basketball team fell cold in the final minutes as North Dakota State held off a Golden Eagle comeback taking a 77-64 victory Saturday in the Summit League opener for both teams.

A pair of Faith Ihim free throws pulled the Golden Eagles within eight points with 4:30 left in the game to finish with 13 points and six rebounds. However, ORU would get no closer as they were held scoreless the final three minutes of the game.

The Bison shot 48 percent in the game and made eight three-pointers while ORU shot 41 percent from the field and made just two shot from behind the arc. The Golden Eagles also went 12-of-19 from the free throw line to finish at 63 percent in the loss.

A trio of Golden Eagles scored in double figures led by Jordan Doyle's 15 points. Atoe' Jackson added 11 and Ihim finished with 13.

Brooke LeMar led all players with 22 points and eight assists for NDSU.

The Turning Point
The Golden Eagles made a run in the final minutes cutting the Bison lead to eight; however Brooke LeMar hit her third three-pointer to put NDSU up by 11 with 3:39 left in the game. ORU made just one field goal in the final four minutes as the Bison held on for a 77-64 win.

The Leaders
Oral Roberts: Jordan Doyle led ORU with 15 points on 7-of-17 shooting.
North Dakota State: Brooke LeMar finished with 22 points and knocked down three three-pointers.

Inside the Box Score
- Saturday's game was the first time ORU shot above 40 percent in a loss.
