State used a late first half run to snap a three-game winning
streak by the Oral Roberts University women's basketball team with
a 71-46 win Thursday night in Summit League action.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 15-4 lead, but a cold shooting
night saw the ORU lead slip away late in the first half. South
Dakota State used a 30-7 run over the final 10 minutes of the half
to take a 40-22 lead into halftime.
ORU was never able to recover shooting just 28 percent in
the game and committing 21 turnovers. SDSU shot 42 percent from the
field as four players finished in double figures for the
Jackrabbits.
Vicky
McIntyre paced ORU finishing one block shy of her second
triple-double of the season. The senior tallied with a game-high 16
points and 20 rebounds while adding nine blocks.
The Turning Point
South Dakota State held the Golden Eagles to
just seven points over the final 10 minutes using a 30-7 run to
take a lead they would not relinquish. ORU shot just 20 percent in
the first half and 28 percent in the game as the Jackrabbits
snapped a three-game winning streak for ORU.
