DES MOINES, Iowa – In the 2018 season opener, Tarik Nicholls lifted the ORU men's soccer team past the Drake Bulldogs in overtime, 1-0, in Des Moines, Iowa. It was Nicholls first goal of the season.

Tarik Nicholls recorded his third career goal and first of the 2018 season in the 92^nd minute to give the Golden Eagles the win in overtime. Nicholls scored the header goal from the near side after receiving a free-kick from 35 yards out by Christos Smirlis. Smirlis was credited with his first assist of the season.
