TULSA, Okla. – Five Golden Eagles scored in double-digits as the Oral Roberts women's basketball team defeated North Dakota, 75-52, Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Center.
ORU came out with back and forth play with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks until the Golden Eagles went on a 9-0 run. For nearly five minutes ORU held North Dakota scoreless from the field holding them to 2-for-14 overall. ORU maintained the advantage and led 13-6 after the first 10 minutes of play. Montserrat Brotons led the team in the first going 3-for-4 from the field for six points.
In the second, the Fighting Hawks got things going and out-scored ORU 23-22. The Golden Eagles were up by as much as 11 in the second before UND made it a six point difference at the half. Nena Taylor hit two three-point shots in the second. Regan Schumacher tied a career high in blocks in the first 20 minutes of play with two.
The Golden Eagles started the third quarter with a 35-29 lead and arguably went on to play their best third quarter of the season. ORU went 56 percent from the field and out-scored North Dakota 21-11. After another 7-0 run, the team led by 14 with four minutes to play.
Defense was key for ORU in the fourth as the Golden Eagles only allowed three made field-goals for North Dakota in the fourth for 18 percent. Schumacher set a new career high in blocks with four and Taylor scored 10 second half points. The team scored 19 more points in the fourth and finished with a 75-52 advantage over the UND. ORU shot 42 percent from the field on the day and out-rebounded North Dakota, 54-34. Jentry Holt recorded her first double-double in an ORU uniform and finished the day with 10 points and 10 boards.

Oral Roberts: Nena Taylor scored 16 points while Holt and Schumacher each had 10 rebounds.
North Dakota: Maggie Manson scored nine and Julia Fleecs grabbed six rebounds.
