FARGO, N.D. – Keni Jo Lippe sets a Summit League record for most points scored in a game as the Oral Roberts women's basketball team defeated North Dakota State, 80-76, in overtime Sunday afternoon in Fargo, North Dakota.
Lippe finished with 46 points to set a season high for most points scored by a Division One student-athlete this season. She is also the first Summit League player to eclipse 40 points since 2013. Lippe surpassed ORU women's basketball All-American, Kevi Luper, for most points scored in a Summit League game, who is from the same hometown, Adair, Oklahoma.
North Dakota State jumped out to an early lead by five to start the game before Lippe gave ORU the first lead of the game, 13-12, with 4:25 to go in the first. The Golden Eagles' defense forced a three-plus minute NDSU scoring drought to allow the 7-0 run. Despite the Bison going 4-for-7 from long range in the quarter, ORU led 21-20 at the end of the first 10 minutes. Lippe led the team with 10 points in the first.
Lippe connected on the old fashioned three-point play to score the first points in the quarter for either team. ORU then went on a two-plus minute scoring drought which led to the Bison tying the game, 30-30, with 3:45 to go in the first half. Lippe scored 24 points in the first half as the Golden Eagles led after 20 minutes of play, 35-31. As a whole, ORU shot 38 percent in the first and went 8-for-9 from the free-throw line.
After a three-point bucket and a pair of free-throws, Lippe secured a career high with 29 points in the game that then went on to 33 points.. Rylie Torrey got on the board when she hit her first three-ball of the game to extend the Golden Eagles' lead to five. ORU took its largest lead of the day after Torrey connected on an and-one with four minutes to go. The Golden Eagles continued to lead, 56-52. Both teams scored 21 points in the third.
The Bison regained the lead early in the fourth by one with 8:47 to play. A three minute scoring drought plagued ORU which gave the Bison another lead with 5:38 to go. Lippe hit a three-ball to retake the lead seconds later. Torrey hit her second three-ball of the game to give ORU a four point lead with three minutes to go. With a minute to play, NDSU took a two point lead until a pair of free-throws by Montserrat Brotons tied the game, 66-66. The Bison had the final possession in regulation, but the ORU defense held for 26 seconds to force overtime, not allowing a shot.
North Dakota State went up by four in the overtime period with 3:04 to play. The Golden Eagles went on a 7-0 run to take a four point lead with 16 seconds to go. ORU held the lead and finished with an 80-76 win. Lippe went 17-for-26 from the field in the game.

Oral Roberts: Lippe recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 46 points and 11 rebounds.
North Dakota State: Rylee Nudell scored 22 points with 11 rebounds.
