TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team will compete in its first Summit League games of the season with a doubleheader against North Dakota January 8 and 9 inside the Mabee Center. Both games will tipoff at 5 p.m.

About the Opponent
  • This will be the fifth all-time meeting between ORU and North Dakota. The Fighting Hawks are 0-7, 0-1 on the season and are coming off a 71-67 loss to Kansas City. Game two of the series between UND and KC was canceled due to Summit League COVID-19 protocol.  
     
  • Last season, the Golden Eagles defeated the Fighting Hawks in both matchups and are 3-1 all-time against UND.

  • ORU will face North Dakota to open the Summit League slate of the 2020-21 season. The Golden Eagles' scheduled league opener series at Omaha was canceled due to Summit League COVID-19 protocols.
     
  • It will be the first game for ORU since the team previously played on December 22, 2020 at TCU, 17 days ago.
     
  • A win for the Golden Eagles would give the program its third-consecutive win over the Fighting Hawks and move the record between the programs at the Mabee Center to 2-1.
     
  • Senior Keni Jo Lippe was named to the preseason All-Summit League First Team. She averages 10 points per game along with four rebounds. She currently has 1,283 career points and is the 21st member of the ORU women's basketball 1,000-point club.
     
  • Regan Schumacher currently leads the Summit League in rebounds per game. She totals 78 rebounds on the season.
     
  • ORU adds 12 newcomers to the roster. Eight freshmen, Corrie AndersonTierney ColemanTyaija ColemanHannah GiddeyCamryn HillCourtlyn LoudermillAddisyn Moore and Faith Paramore. Two sophomores, Sinetra Jones and Bo Teulings. A junior, Ariel Walker, and a redshirt senior, Manaya Jones.
     
  • The Golden Eagles are one of the youngest teams in Division I with eight true freshman and the average age of 19.3. Eleven of the 16 players on the roster have zero years of Division I experience, until this season.
     
  • Head Coach Misti Cussen is in her ninth season at the helm for the Golden Eagles and holds a 126-128 overall head coaching record.
     
  • ORU was picked to finish fourth in Summit League Preseason Poll.
