TULSA, Okla.  – On Friday night, the Oral Roberts women's soccer team (4-7-1, 1-2 Summit) picked up their first Summit League win of the season in front of the home faithful. The Golden Eagles took down the South Dakota Coyotes (6-3-2, 1-2 Summit) by a score of 3-1.
 
South Dakota managed to strike first on a free kick in the 22nd minute after they curled a shot around the goalkeeper. The Coyotes would hold the one goal lead for the remainder of the half and take the 1-0 advantage into the break.
 
ORU's halftime adjustments proved to be too much for South Dakota as the Golden Eagles exploded for three second half goals. Kennedy Langebartels got the scoring going less than four minutes into the second half when she beat the keeper with a header off of an outstanding pass from Mia Kitterman.
 
Kitterman was not satisfied with just an assist in the match, burying her second goal of the season in the 62nd minute. Samantha See's initial shot attempt went off the crossbar and deflected back to Kitterman, who found the open net for her second career game-winner.
 
In the 71st minute, Martha Helsee added an insurance goal with her first goal of the season. Helsee had a shot attempt stopped by the South Dakota goalkeeper before an ill-advised pass went directly back to the senior who did not miss the second-chance.
 
Notables

• Jessica Misquez logged 62 minutes of action on Friday night, moving into third on ORU's career minutes played list.
• Misquez played in her 77th career match, tying her for 10th in program history.
• Louisa Ramsauer logged two saves in the contest and moved into eighth in school history with 138 career saves.
• Preseason Players to Watch Kitterman and Helsee each landed a pair of shots on goal to lead ORU.
•  Michele Bonifacio and Gabrielle Abbey each played the full 90 minutes on defense.
• South Dakota earned 11 corner kicks to the Golden Eagles three.
• Shots and fouls were virtually a dead heat throughout the contest. ORU outshot USD 12-11 while fouls remained even at 10 apiece.

On Sunday afternoon, ORU will host Summit League leaders South Dakota State at the Case Soccer Complex. South Dakota State earned a 1-0 win over Kansas City on Friday night to remain undefeated in Summit League action.
