TULSA, Okla. – It's Homecoming Week at Oral Roberts and the men's basketball team is set to welcome Southwestern Christian for its home opener Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. It'll be a special night inside the freshly renovated Mabee Center as the Golden Eagles will unveil their NCAA Sweet 16 and Summit League Championship banners.

Tinker Federal Credit Union is the game sponsor for the night and will be giving away a set of Apple Air Pods to one lucky fan. TFCU also will give away a $75 Visa gift card and fans can register for the drawing at the TFCU table on the concourse.

• ORU finished its second-straight season with a winning record at 18-11 last year and closed on a seven-game winning streak before falling in the NCAA Sweet 16. The Golden Eagles dropped their season opener at Colorado State, a team receiving votes in the AP Top 25 Poll, 109-80.

• After making a splash on the national stage as the top scorer in the country a season ago, junior guard Max Abmas tallied his 30th career game of 20 or more points at CSU Tuesday. He was named a Preseason All-American by three publications and is on the watch list for numerous awards, including the NABC Player of the Year and Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year.

• The Golden Eagles excelled Tuesday at protecting the basketball as they turned the ball over just five times compared to 12 assists on the night.

• Despite winning the tournament title last year, ORU was picked to finish third in The Summit League Preseason Poll, behind South Dakota State and North Dakota State.

• ORU led the nation in 3-pointers made per game (11.1) and free throw percentage (82.1), while it had the 14th-highest scoring average in the NCAA posting 81.1 points per game.

• The Golden Eagles return 10 letterwinners, including three starters, and add five new faces for 2021-22 with two transfers and three freshmen.

Scouting the Opponent
• ORU has won both meetings in the all-time series against SCU by more than 50 points, including a 111-58 victory last season.

• The Eagles are coming off a 111-79 win over Barclay last Saturday to even their season record at 1-1 after suffering a 103-90 loss to Our Lady of the Lake in the season opener.

• Five different players are averaging double digits for the SCU offense led by Luiz Machado Jr.'s 29.5 points per game as the senior went off for 38 in the opening game. The senior is shooting 52 percent overall and 57 percent from 3-point range.
