MACOMB, Ill. – The Oral Roberts men's soccer team tied Denver 1-1, but fell in penalty kicks, 3-2, as the Pioneers earned the 2021 Summit League Championship in Macomb, Illinois.

Denver got on the board early in the third minute of the match. Trevor Wright lifted the Pioneers to a 1-0 advantage to the top left corner of the goal. Wright's goal was assisted by Eli Mereness.

The Golden Eagles answered with a goal by Dante Brigida in the 21st minute. Brigida connected on a penalty kick for his ninth goal of the season.

Two 10 minute overtime periods were not enough as the two teams ended the game in a 1-1 tie. ORU and Denver advanced to penalty kicks to decide who will win the Summit League Championship. Felipe Medina and Juan Arias connected with their penalty kicks and Miles Motakef came up with three saves. As the team's moved on to sudden victory, Denver took the advantage to earn the Summit League Championship in penalty kicks, 3-2.

- Miles Motakef played 90 minutes and recorded six saves. Motakef holds an 11-2-2 record on the season.
