The Golden Eagles used consecutive points from Trinity Freeman and Aixa Vigil to even the opening set, 3-3, and got a solo block by Jaxie Wakley to make it a 6-5 score. The Mavericks called a timeout and regrouped on the way to a 25-20 set win.

Omaha jumped to a 3-0 advantage in the second set before the Golden Eagles closed the gap to 7-6. The visitors took advantage of a five-point burst taking a 14-8 lead until LaCour found the floor again, but it was the Mavericks that continued to press holding a 21-10 cushion. Three-consecutive kills from Kaia Dunford while facing set point against were not enough as ORU dropped the frame, 25-16.

The first lead of the night came for ORU when Bryanne Soares registered a solo block for a 4-3 advantage in the third stanza. The score was tied 13 different times in the frame as neither side could generate more than a two-point lead until Omaha pushed in front, 13-10.
