TULSA, Okla. – Keni Jo Lippe recorded her 1,500th career point in Sunday's game against Tulsa at the Mabee Center as the Golden Hurricane took the Mayor's Cup, 69-55.

Tulsa started the game hot from the field going 53 percent with a 16-1 run.  Delaney Nix broke the run with three minutes to go, but TU extended to 21-3. The Golden Hurricane out-scored ORU 25-6 in the opening period as the Golden Eagles shot 14 percent. ORU's defense got it going and held Tulsa to nine points in the second. The teams went into halftime with a 34-15 advantage for Tulsa.

After back-to-back three-point buckets by Ariel Walker, the Golden Eagles cut the deficit to 11 in the third. Katie Scott hit a pair of free-throws to cut it to a nine point game. Walker hit another three to cut it to 36-30 midway through the third. TU went back up by 13 to end the third, 49-36. Down the stretch, Tulsa maintained its lead and ended the game with a 69-55 score.

Entering the game, Lippe needed five points to eclipse the 1,500-point threshold. She scored with a layup midway through the second to become the ninth player in program history to reach the milestone. She had nine points and five rebounds on the day.

Delaney Nix and Walker both had double-digit outings with 10 points for Nix and 14 for Walker, respectively. Walker went 4-for-8 from deep range and contributed to ORU's hot shooting that had the team scoring 50-plus percent in the second half. Despite first quarter shooting woes, ORU out-scored Tulsa, 40-35, the remaining three quarters of play.
