About the Opponent
- The Shockers were picked to finish eighth in the American Athletic preseason poll. The team is currently 6-1 to start the season. In their last game, they beat Northwestern State, 70-61.
- TU returns eight letterwinners from last season, including five starters.
- A win for the Shockers will give them a 7-1 start to the season which would be the best start to a season in program history through eight games.

- ORU will face Wichita State in its seventh game of the season. The Golden Eagles look for their first road win of the season.
