TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team returns to the Mabee Center Thursday, Dec. 30 for a Summit League matchup against the Denver Pioneers at 7 p.m.

Quick Hits
• For the 10th time this season, Max Abmas led ORU in scoring with 19 points at South Dakota State. Kareem Thompson also recorded 19 points on the road at SDSU. It was the first time this season Thompson led the Golden Eagles in scoring and second time this season he scored 10-plus points.
 
• Abmas (21.1 ppg) and Weaver (10.5) both score in double figures to lead the Golden Eagles offense, which ranks 31st in the NCAA at 80.7 points per game.
 
• Behind his season-best 38 points in the Mayor's Cup win over Tulsa, Abmas now ranks 9th in the nation in points per game and is third the country making 4.25 3-pointers a game. The junior recently moved past Eric Perry (1996-2000) for fifth in program history in career triples and has 238 in his tenure. He is currently 15th all-time in scoring with 1,387 career points.

• ORU is hitting 12.8 triples per game, second in the nation, thanks to a school-record 21 against Southwestern Christian and 19 versus Tulsa. The team has made double-digit 3-pointers in 10 of 12 outings this season.
 
• The Golden Eagles currently rank 43rd in the NCAA pulling down 40.3 rebounds a contest.

Scouting the Opponent
• ORU has battled the Pioneers to an 8-10 record in the all-time series, including an 91-82 win when the teams last met on January 16, 2021. ORU is 6-2 all-time at home against Denver.

• The Pioneers are coming off a 75-74 win against St. Thomas on a last second shot. Denver sits 26th in the country in free-throw attempts. The squad from Denver, Colorado, also sits 48th in free-throws made.

• KJ Hunt leads Denver averaging 16.8 points per game. Hunt is 11th in the nation in total field-goal attempts and 14th in total field-goals made. He is also 29th in the nation in total points. Jordan Johnson averages 11.1 points per game for the Pioneers. Johnson leads the team and the league in total minutes played.
