TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team begins 2022 with a contest against the Omaha Mavericks Saturday, January 1 at the Mabee Center with tipoff at 7 p.m.

Quick Hits
• For the 11th time this season, Max Abmas led ORU in scoring with 24 points against Denver. It was Abmas' seventh 20-plus point game of the season. Trey Phipps scored 11 against the Pioneers and it was his fourth-consecutive double-digit outing. Off the bench, ORU scored 31 points against Denver.
 
• Abmas (21.3 ppg) and Weaver (10.9) both score in double figures to lead the Golden Eagles offense, which ranks 27th in the NCAA at 80.9 points per game.
 
• Behind his season-best 38 points in the Mayor's Cup win over Tulsa, Abmas now ranks 8th in the nation in points per game and is third the country making 4.15 3-pointers a game. The junior recently moved past Eric Perry (1996-2000) for fifth in program history in career triples and has 241 in his tenure. He is currently 13th all-time in scoring with 1,411 career points.


• ORU is hitting 12.7 triples per game, second in the nation, thanks to a school-record 21 against Southwestern Christian and 19 versus Tulsa. The team has made double-digit 3-pointers in 12 of 14 outings this season.
 
• The Golden Eagles currently rank 42nd in the NCAA pulling down 40 rebounds a contest.
 
Scouting the Opponent
• ORU has battled Omaha to a 13-4 record in the all-time series, including an 86-74 win when the teams last met on January 3, 2021. ORU is 7-1 all-time at home against Omaha.


• The Mavericks are coming off an 84-78 win against Western Illinois. The win against the Leathernecks broke an 11-game losing streak for the Mavericks. Omaha's first win of the season was its season opener against Hastings, 67-57, on November 9, 2021, in Omaha.
 
• Felix Lemetti leads the Mavericks with 10.8 points per game. Nick Ferrarini also averages double-digits with 10.1 points per game. Lemetti ranks third in the Summit League in three-point field goal percentage at 40.2 percent. In the team's win over Western Illinois, he scored 22 points in 36 minutes of play along with five rebounds and six assists.
