VERMILLION, S.D. – A late goal from
Christa Van Loon was not enough to lift the Oral Roberts women's soccer team to victory in South Dakota. The Golden Eagles fell 2-1 to Summit League foe South Dakota on Friday evening.
South Dakota struck first when they found the net in the tenth minute. The Coyotes held the 1-0 advantage until halftime.
After halftime, the Coyotes expanded their lead to two in the 67
th minute.

Christa Van Loon drew a penalty inside the eighteen, earning ORU's first penalty kick. Van Loon executed the penalty kick perfectly, bringing the Golden Eagles within one.
The penalty kick was too little, too late for the Golden Eagles, as they fell 2-1 to South Dakota.
