SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –
Kaia Dunford and
Jaxie Wakley of the Oral Roberts volleyball team earned postseason recognition Thursday landing on the 2020 Summit League All-Freshman Team as voted by the league's head coaches.
The pair of Golden Eagles join 15 previous honorees on the All-Freshman team dating back to 2003.
Kaia Dunford, Fr., Outside Hitter (Waimanalo, Hawaii)
- Second on the team totaling 180 kills playing 70 sets averaging 2.57 kills per set
- Tallied 182 digs to average 2.60 per set and finished with six double-doubles
- Recorded a season-best 25 kills at North Dakota State Feb. 15 and had a 25-dig performance at Western Illinois Feb. 8
Jaxie Wakley, Fr., Middle Blocker (Broken Arrow, Okla.)
- Top freshman in the league posting 0.89 blocks per set, ranking seventh overall, and led ORU with 63 total blocks
- Third on the team totaling 173 kills playing 71 sets and averaged 2.44 kills per set
- Registered double-digit kills nine times in 18 appearances with a season-high 19 at North Dakota State Feb. 15
