PINE BLUFF, Ark. – An offensive explosion lead the Oral Roberts women's soccer team to a 5-0 rout of Arkansas – Pine Bluff on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Eagles had eight different players record a point in the contest.
The two teams were trading shot attempts early, combining for eight shot attempts in the first fifteen minutes.
Brianna McGowan just missed connecting on a scoring opportunity in the fifth minute, missing off the left post.
Pamela Caballeros opened the scoring almost immediately after checking into the match. 121 seconds after entering the game, Caballeros beat the Pine Bluff keeper off of an assist from
Mia Kitterman. Three minutes later,
Ava Crimmings picked up her first collegiate goal with a pair of assists from
Samantha See and
Nicole Gornell.
In the 31st minute, Caballeros found the net for the second time in the first half, burying a shot into the bottom left corner. See picked up her second assist of the game on Caballeros' second goal.
For the first time in 1,430 days,
Rachael Baker found the back of the net and pushed the Golden Eagle lead to four. Baker's last goal came on September 22, 2017 against UTRGV.
Arkansas native
Sophie Nash picked up her second goal in as many games to push the ORU lead to five. The freshman buried a shot into the lower right corner of the goal off of a beautiful pass from
Marta Nieto.
