TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team (2-1-1) faced their first adversity of the 2021 season, falling to the Creighton Bluejays (3-1-0) on Sunday afternoon at the Case Soccer Complex. In a battle of the birds, the Bluejays had the Golden Eagles number from the start, attempting 25 shots in the contest.
 
ORU managed to keep the game close in the first half, allowing just a 25th minute goal to Creighton's Jordy Rothwell on a corner kick. The Bluejays held that 1-0 lead through the remainder of the half and held a one goal advantage at the break.
 
After halftime, the Bluejays found the net twice within five minutes to take a 3-0 lead over the Golden Eagles.
 
Late in the second half Pamela Caballeros just missed her fifth goal of the season, hitting the crossbar before the shot redirected to Rachael Baker. On the rebound, Baker attempted a shot but it sailed left of the post and nullified ORU's best scoring opportunity of the day.

• ORU landed just four shots on goal throughout the match.
• Sophie Nash, Ava Crimmings, and Marta Nieto all logged their first starts for the Golden Eagles on Sunday.
• Nieto led ORU with three shot attempts, landing one on goal.
• As field players, Michele Bonifacio and Michaela Johnson logged the full 90 minutes of action.
• Creighton outshot ORU 25-11 in the contest, landing 12 on goal.
• Louisa Ramsauer matched her season-high with nine saves on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles will hit the road for a pair of contests next week. ORU will start their roadtrip in Springfield, Missouri against Missouri State on Thursday before heading to Conway, Arkansas to battle Central Arkansas on Sunday. First touch from Springfield is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
