THE BASICS
Score: Oral Roberts 70 – North Dakota State 74
Records: ORU (9-10, 4-4); NDSU (8-11, 4-5)
Location: Scheels Center – Fargo, N.D.

FARGO, N.D. – A career-high 29 points from Tirzah Moore was not enough for the Oral Roberts women's basketball team as they fell 74-70 to the North Dakota State Bison on Saturday afternoon in Fargo. Moore connected on an eye-popping 12 of 15 shots on her way to a career day.

Moore got the Golden Eagles going early with a 10 point first quarter. After winning the opening tip, Katie Scott connected on a layup to give ORU an early lead but the Bison responded with a 7-0 run. The Bison continued to roll throughout the quarter, building a nine point lead before the Golden Eagles were forced to call a timeout. The Golden Eagles rattled off four quick points in the paint after Regan Schumacher and Hannah Cooper both connected from close. To close the quarter, the Bison once again got hot and built their lead back to eight – 30-22.

The Bison built their lead back to nine points before Tirzah Moore went on a 6-0 run over three possessions. The Golden Eagles continued to play pesky defense and would not go away easily, chopping the NDSU lead to as few as two with 2:26 to play in the half. Before the break, the Bison built their lead back up to seven and took a 44-37 advantage into halftime.

Coming out of halftime, North Dakota State built their lead up to 10 points before the Golden Eagles caught fire and went on an 11-0 tear. Tirzah and Trinity Moore both scored in the stretch, alongside Delaney Nix. A hustle play to recover a loose ball in the paint by Regan Schumacher turned into a layup and the Golden Eagles took their first lead since Scott's layup on the opening possession. The two teams would continue to trade blows with the Bison mustering just a two point lead after three quarters.

ORU's first six points in the fourth quarter were all scored by Tirzah Moore before Schumacher rattled off six points of her own. The two teams would continue to trade leads with the game being tied at 70 into the final 17 seconds. Within the final 17 ticks, the Bison would go four of four from the charity stripe to bury the Golden Eagles comeback efforts.
