• Max Abmas was named preseason Summit League Player of the Year and to the league's preseason First Team. Abmas earned a spot on the Naismith Player of the Year Watch List and the NABC Preseason Player of the Year Watch List as well as on the 2023 Bob Cousy Award Watch List and Wooden Top 50. All for the second-straight season.

• For the first time since 2011-12, the Golden Eagles were picked No. 1 in the Summit League preseason rankings. ORU also sits at No. 15 in the preseason Mid-Major Poll.

• Abmas continues where he left off last season averaging 14.8 points per game. Three other Golden Eagles average double-digits with Issac McBride, Connor Vanover and DeShang Weaver. McBride is shooting 12.4 points and Vanover averages 13.4 points. Newcomer Connor Vanover is scoring with 13.4 ppg.

• Vanover has totaled 23 blocks through five games. He currently leads the nation in total blocks and is second in blocks per game (4.6). As a team, ORU is 7th in the nation in blocks.

• ORU is hitting 11.1 triples per game. The team has totaled 56 three-point buckets this season. Extending from last season, ORU has now made 10-plus three-point buckets in 12 of its last 16 games.

• On the glass, ORU is second in the Summit League in offensive (11.2) defensive (28.6)rebounds per game.

• This will be the eighth all-time meeting between ORU and Utah State. The Golden Eagles trail in the series, 1-6. In the most recent meeting, ORU fell to the Aggies, 76-55, December 29, 2007, in Logan, Utah.
