TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team returns to the Mabee Center for a Sunday, November 27 matchup against the Rogers State Hillcats at 4 p.m.

Quick Hits

• Max Abmas was named preseason Summit League Player of the Year and to the league's preseason First Team. Abmas earned a spot on the Naismith Player of the Year Watch List and the NABC Preseason Player of the Year Watch List as well as on the 2023 Bob Cousy Award Watch List and Wooden Top 50. All for the second-straight season.

• For the first time since 2011-12, the Golden Eagles were picked No. 1 in the Summit League preseason rankings. ORU also sits at No. 16 in the preseason Mid-Major Poll.

• Abmas continues where he left off last season averaging 15.2 points per game. Two other Golden Eagles average double-digits with Issac McBride and Connor Vanover. McBride is shooting 13.5 points and Vanover averages 14.2 points.

• Vanover has totaled 27 blocks through six games. He currently leads the nation in total blocks and in blocks per game (4.5). As a team, ORU is 3rd in the nation in blocks.

• ORU is hitting 11.7 triples per game. The team has totaled 70 three-point buckets this season. Extending from last season, ORU has now made 10-plus three-point buckets in 13 of its last 17 games.

• On the glass, ORU is second in the Summit League in defensive rebounds per game (27.8).

• This will be the fifth all-time meeting between ORU and Rogers State. The Golden Eagles lead the series, 4-0. In the most recent meeting, ORU defeated the Hillcats, 91-31, on November 23, 2021, at the Mabee Center.

• The Hillcats are 4-2 on the season. In its previous game, Rogers State defeated East Central, 71-53, at home.

• Three RSU players are averaging double-figures with Chris Whitaker leading the way with 13.2 ppg. Joey Saracco is averaging 12.7 ppg. and Sherwyn Devonish-Prince scoring 11 ppg.

• The Hillcats average 76.5 points per game and shoot 49.9 percent from the field and 38 from three-point range. RSU is out-rebounding its opponents by 4.7 rebounds per game.
